Zing! Pow! Guacamole!

I got rave reviews on Saturday night when I made my special guacamole for my family. It's got the right amount of zing, kick and punch.

Whip this up and serve with Garden of Eatin Salsa Reds or Red Hot Blues. I should get stock in that company. I love their chips. Red Hot Blues are tasty, cayenne pepper-spiced blue corn chips, and I encourage everyone to try them. But this post is about guac, so let's move on...

The key with the guacamole is mixing it to taste. This recipe will help you make it with your preferences, and provide the key ingredients. I like it because you can adjust the spices for your group. If you're making it for Chilihead, obviously you'll want to go with more jalapenos, but for everyone else, tasting and adjusting based on how much you're making is the way to go.

Ingredients
2-3 Haas avocados
1/2 to 1 red onion, chopped
1-2 jalapenos, minced
Juice of 1 lime
Dash or two of hot sauce (I like Frank's Red Hot)
Dash of salt
Dash of pepper

Method
Half the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop out the avocado flesh. Add to a shallow bowl, and begin dicing avocado in bowl. Add onion, jalapenos, and begin mashing. Add lime juice and mash more.

And you're done. Tasty guacamole to share. I like it with chips, fish tacos, hamburgers, and much more! (Seriously, I could eat this every day!) Enjoy!
